Repairing cedar shakes in Tigard and Lake Oswego today. We look for shakes that are exposing the felt underlayement. If felt paper is left exposed for too long the paper blisters up and leaks will form. We remove these deteriorated shakes and replace with #1, Blue Ribbon cedar shakes. When the weather gets better we will be back to apply the preservative treatment to the roof. This will keep moss and fungi from growing on the roof and protect from ultraviolet damage.
